The lovely daughter of Master Of Design has certainly put her poor barrier manners behind her after securing her second win in a row this preparation at Sandown. Winning the Hamilton Reid Accountants Handicap over 1400m in nice style she is now back on track to continue ticking the boxes.
She has been a challenge for the team at Ellerton Zahra Racing but speaking to co-trainer Simon Zahra, she now has positive race experiences under her belt and is beginning to show her true ability.
“She has got her confidence back and is enjoying her work but with the interrupted preparation she has been up for a long time. We will see how she feels towards the end of the week before we decide on her next outing.” Zahra said.
“She’s only just starting her career so we will look after her, she may just have a little freshen up or some time in the paddock while she is in a positive state of mind.”
Zahra understands how important it is to manage fillies correctly, having co-trained outstanding Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lilly. The right balance of training and time off keeps them enthusiastic in their racing, both physically and mentally.
Jockey Damian Lane said post race that he feels the talented stakes placed filly is on the right path now.
“She was a lot better today and we will see more wins from her in the future. She is still inexperienced and there is more improvement to come.”
Creativity is by Master Of Design from the More Than Ready mare, Voltara.
Ellerton Zahra Racing are big fans of Creativity’s family, purchasing her promising yearling half sister out of the Premier sale recently. Voltara was covered by Swettenham’s brilliant UK miler Toronado last season.
Zahra is also very upbeat about another Master Of Design they have in the stable, Gaudi a two-year-old colt from the Deputy Governor mare Lovely Rita. A promising galloper, Gaudi was heading towards the Blue Diamond before becoming a little shinny but having now trialed very nicely, Zahra is optimistic about the colts future.
