Another day. Another Swettenham Stud stallion double. This time the success came at Ballarat on Thursday. Cut and Run, a daughter of Dash for Cash, led the way with a strong three quarter length victory in the Star Bar & Cafe Maiden Plate (1200m). A member of the Mornington stables of Tony Noonan, Cut and Run ($8) cruisde home to beat Shystta ($8), with Zapphire ($26) another two and a quarter lengths back. Purchased for $27,000 from the draft of Emirates Park at the 2007 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale, Cut and Run had previously placed twice from her seven career starts. She is a well bred filly being from the unraced Fly So Free mare Flying Visit. Flying Visit in from Red Luce, a three quarter sister to L'On Vite - the dam of Holy Roman Emperor, Big Viking, Milanova and Heart of Oak. A couple of hours later at Ballarat it was the turn of Hold That Tiger filly Dynamic Tiger to race away with the Bunch of Grapes Hotel Handicap (1000m). Trained by Jim Mason and ridden by Michelle Payne, Dynamite Tiger made it two wins from just four starts when she beat the odds on favourite Toronto Star by over a length. Dynamite Tiger was an admired youngster and broke the record for the highest priced yearling ever sold at the 2007 Magic Millions Tasmanian Select Yearling Sale when purchased by Aceland Stud from the draft of Camoquhill Stud for $78,000. She is one of nine winners from nine runners for the Melbourne and Adelaide winning mare Framed. As well as Dynamite Tiger she is the dam of former Hong Kong star Meridian Star - a winner of eight races and earnings of over HK$15 million. Dynamite Tiger is one of 126 individual winners by the Hold That Tiger who's oldest Australian progeny are just three-year-olds.
