Swettenham stallion Kaphero has settled in well in Sydney where he is preparing to contest Group races during the Autumn Carnival.  Kaphero This morning he trialled at Randwick in an atmosphere which will "do himthe world of good", according to Swettenham's Ian Rimington. "It was like a race meeting with horses everywhere in the mounting yard", he said. Ridden by Blake Shinn, Kaphero jumped well and as they hit the first turn he changed smoothly onto the right leg. "Blake and Leon Corstens were very happy with the trial", Rimington said. Shinn will ride Kaphero again in work on Tuesday and Thursday in preparation for the $150,000 Group 2 Challenge Stakes over 1000m at Randwick on March the 14th. All being well, Kaphero then steps up to the $350,000 Group 1 Glaxy to be run at Randwick on the 11th of April. |
