Kaphero Handling Stud Duties With Ease |

Kahero Retired to stud this season after a very impressive racing career Kaphero has certainly been drawing attention from breeders across Australia. Kaphero was born and bred at Swettenham Stud, from Golden Slipper winning Sire Danzero out of Group 1 winning mare Kapchat, from the immediate family of the top-class gallopers Courtza, O’Reilly, Our Pompeii and Critic. Since arriving back at Nagambie, Kaphero the youngest of the 8 stallions standing at Swettenham Stud has settled in quickly and let down particularly well. In fact his progress has been so stunning he now looks like a stallion who had much more time to let down than Kaphero actually enjoyed.
Bloodstock Agent Peter Ford says: " After seeing him when he had just retired to seeing him at the recent Swettenham Press and Agents day I think he has let down magnificently, if he can produce horses that are anything like him they will be very popular with Trainers and Owners alike." Trainer Robert Smerdon recalls “A cracking type as a yearling, I followed him through out his career; he's my type of horse. I believe that if he can stamp his stock, his progeny will be the one’s to watch on our tracks. He's definitely a good chance of making it here." Since the beginning of the stud season Kaphero has not given owner Adam Sangster much to worry about. From the 40 mares served Kaphero has 34 scanned in foal (85%). The quality of mares that he has been covering is particularly impressive. These include:Nagina a Rory's Jester mare out of Group 1 winner Ambala (by Gielgud (USA)); Miss Londolozi by Rock of Gibraltar out of dual Group 2 winner Londolozi (by El Qahira (NZ)); Rainbow Bubbles by El Moxie Group 1 placed herself and full sister to Group 1 and multiple Group 3 winner El Mirada, plus Zibiza (NZ) a Zabeel half-sister to Group 1 winner Jolly Old Mac (by McGinty). Standing at an advertised fee of $11,000 including GST this outstanding Group winning sprinter is a stallion with many open lines in his pedigree that suit many different mares. His special introductory fee has seen breeders keen to use him as the ten times winning sprinter is exceptional value at $8,250 incl GST with a LFG or Free Return for such a wonderful speed horse. |
