Hold That Tiger has another dual winner in up and coming Tasmanian stayer Tiger Khan.
Trained by Ken Hanson, Tiger Khan made it two on the trot and finally looks like fulfilling the potential Hanson has always seen in him. Winning the Class 1 Weeding Party Hire Club Plate by over 2 lengths was a huge turnaround on where the stayer was at just a few months before and Hanson believes it is a combination of a few things "He certainly wanted more ground but the wet tracks were not suiting him at all," said Hanson. The second win in a row, albeit against almost the same field was certainly more impressive than the maiden victory and showcased the extent of the four-year-olds improvement. "I told the jockey (Brendan McCoull) that he was going better than the previous win and was confident he would win again," said Hanson "After the race Brendan told me he felt like he could've taken off at any point and still won the race." The penny appears to have dropped for the four-year-old and Hanson is confident this rich vein of form will continue. "He just keeps getting better and Brendan was confident that he would win more races." "He has already called the the ride next week!" joked Hanson. Tiger Khan was purchased by Hanson for $16,000 at the 2007 Magic Millions sale in Tasmania and looks like being a good investment already having won in excess of $26,000.
