Can't Hold That Tiger PDF Print E-mail
It is one of the great things about standing stallions when the opposition on the racetrack cannot keep up and your news service on the stallion cannot keep up.

We just cannot Hold - That Tiger he is off and running with a burst reminiscent of his electrifying finish as a 2YO winner of the Group 1 Grand Criterium over 1400m in France.

The question becomes at what number of wins do people sit up and start taking notice. After all he is one of only 12 recognized champions by Storm Bird and one of 8 only Group 1 winning 2YO colt's by Storm Bird. Plus he is just a cracking individual as the vision on the web at www.swettenham.com.au shows.

Hold That Tiger:

  • In the last seven days has had 12 winners (7 first time winners).
  • In the last month has had 27 winners (13 first time winners).
  • In the last month has had 1 2YO stakes winner and 5 stakes placed runners.
  • But it is not just lately as since August 1st 2008 Hold That Tiger has had 100 individual winners of 157 races.

It is a great effort to have career winners to runners around 55% when your oldest are only 4YO's. In total he now has as at 26th June: 139 winners; of 275 races; 75 horses are multiple winners; from 253 runners, (of whom 25 have only had one start). Total stakes are now over US$6m.

His fee is advertised at $9,900 including GST with a LFG or free return and his yearlings sold to $150,000 at the 2009 Australian Yearling Sales. He is clearly fast becoming the best value son of Storm Cat in the Southern Hemisphere.
