Dash For Cash Debutante Wins At Seymour PDF Print E-mail
The Mitchelton Wines 2YO fillies’ Maiden plate at Seymour today saw a bevy of debutantes face the judge for the first time.
The race included some expensive sale ring fillies by sires like Elvstroem (sold for $70,000), two by Fasnet Rock ($155,000 and $120,000), a Commands ($37,000), a Tiger Hill ($60,000) plus a Dehere ($70,000). The horses emanated from some of Melbourne’s bigger and better stables.
Coming out on top was the 2YO filly by Dash For Cash from Nulla Belle a Scenic mare that just completed the Swettenham connection. This filly was retained by her breeder Martin Godby who raced her dam Nulla Belle.
Our Maikai trained by David Hayes and ridded by Craig Newett did a very good job to win comfortably by two lengths after over-coming a wide barrier. The Dash For Cash filly settled in second last place and was ridden quietly to the turn where she peeled out wide and ran home with great gusto. Her final margin on the line was flattering to all those who finished behind her including the short priced favourite Nun Faster.
