This is the time of the year when stud owners want to see the progeny of their sires getting winners. Any time really is a good time for a winner but in particular the sales season that has already commenced and will continue through until April. Swettenham Stud is having a great season with Bianconi whose percentage of winners to runners is quite remarkable while Dash For Cash is also making his presence felt. He sired a double on Saturday last with Our Baby Bonus winning impressively at Caulfield and Easy Cash scoring at Morphettville. Dash For Cast gets attractive progeny. Our Baby Bonus is a steel grey with a lot of quality about her and ability as well. He started favourite at “The Heath” on the strength of a good win previously at Bendigo and thus keeps his unbeaten record in tact. The Bendigo win provided a solid form guide as four or five winners have since come out of that race plus another at Moonee Valley on Friday night. Mick Nolan, who was in charge of proceedings whilst Mick Price was on the Gold Coast for the Magic Millions Yearling Sales, was brief with his comments but constructive. “He looks very promising he is a nice horse with a good future once he settles down he could get seven furlongs (1400 metres)” he said. Winning jockey Damien Oliver was also impressed quoting, “Mick wanted me to ride him a bit quieter but he flew the gates and we got it so easy he relaxed nicely in front” “I think he is above average, there’s no doubt that but it’d just be nice to take him through his grades and I’m sure he’ll measure up to stakes company with time," he added.
