BREEDING VENTURE NO 1

Breeding Venture No1Stable Connect are still processing the applications which closes in two weeks
time with just a few spots remaining.

Right from the beginning the managers have spoken about managing risk and
that you make your money when you buy not when you sell. Buy right and you
will always get value when you exit.

So is it really any surprise that the first two US mares have produced very
nice colt foals that will head to the Keeneland Weanling Sales this coming
November.

CONGRATULATIONS TO:

› John Pittard our Swettenham Stud farrier and his assistant Stuart Webb on their recent Group 1 AJC Sires’ Produce winner Yosei. The filly is owned by John and trained by Stuart.

› Pip Cooper on the win of Yosei who is from her mare Fuji Fairy who is presently in foal to Bianconi.

› Sam Sangster on his first Australian winner Molotov saluting in the Onkaparinga Cup at Oakbank. He has some loyal Swettenham clients in the horse with successful racehorse syndicator Darren Dance, TBA and Super VOBIS manager Richard Andrews and our graphic designer Stuart McRobert to name, but a few. Sam and the other part owners are now eyeing off the Darwin with the horse.

› Bill and Yoneen Hodder who own a boutique farm Boxgrove Pastoral near Nagambie and have reared all their yearlings at home in North East Victoria for the $220,000 sale at Easter Session 2 of their Keep The Faith colt.

A SALIENT POINT FROM EACH COMMENTARY FROM READERS ON BREEDNET RE SERVICE FEES:

› Do stallion owners genuinely accept the proposition that commercial breeders using their stallions should reasonably expect to be able to sell the resultant offspring at a profit or at least break even? If the answer to that question is yes, then how do the owners of certain stallions justify their fees for the 2010 season?
