YEARLING SALES RESULTS

Tasmanian Yearling Sales
Congratulations to Tony Williams from Magic Millions who managed a 44.5%
increase at the sales in 2010 achieving an overall average of $14,193.
It is great to see the sale claw its way back as it is essential to the health
of the Tasmanian Breeding Industry long term as they need their own sale
and identity.

A pleasing result was registered for Keep The Faith when loyal Swettenham
Stud breeder Dr Graeme McLeod sold a filly from his mare Tycoon Sali for
$33,000 to another Swettenham client in Brett Williams. This was the only
Keep The Faith in the sale.

Similarly, Bianconi only had the one representative a filly bred by charismatic
owner/breeder Alwyn Shaw’s Acelands Stud and this offering from Gelignite Speed
made $17,000. The two Dash For Cash yearlings on offer were both from a solid
client in Vu van Tu and they included the second highest lot a colt out of Silver
Barbie that made $67,500. While a Hold That Tiger colt from Just A Little Bit made
$20,000 again for vendor Dr Graeme McLeod’s Camoquhill Stud.

Sydney Classic Sale
The bay Dash For Cash yearling colt from Desert Yarn sold for $100,000 to Cranbourne trainer Robbie Griffiths who has a keen eye for a yearling. The colt was a strong well muscled horse who demanded plenty of attention and looks an astute purchase. While two other Dash For Cash youngsters were headed for NZ and possibly Ready To Run Sales.

David Jolly from SA went to $42,500 for a Keep The Faith colt from Lucky Beauty to complete the results for Swettenham stallions at the sale.

NZ Sales Series
A colt by Hold That Tiger from Sabio Lass was the only Swettenham stallion represented in New Zealand Select Sales and the colt sold well for $60,000 to a local Matamata buyer. While the Festival Sale saw the lone lot being a Dash For Cash filly sold for $13,000 to Trevor McKee who has enjoyed stunning success with the Court of Jewels filly Adaline a Group 2 winner this season.
