ONE OF THE FIRST KAPHERO FOALS
Ray Hubbard has had one of the first foals by Kaphero and the filly is from the well related Miss Londolozi. She was born at Tas Reilly's Bassinghall Farm (Nagambie).
Kaphero has really started to let down and he drew rave reviews at the most recent stallion parade for his strength and quality.

THE NORTH EAST BREEDERS
Saturday 31st July saw the NE Breeders welcome in the
horses birthday with their very successful annual awards
night. The NEB raised $65k with the sale of nominations
and the gala event. Mitchelton Winery was again instrumental
in their support of the function and their support ensured it
was a night enjoyed by many.
Swettenham Stud certainly enjoyed the night taking home two
awards with Bianconi the North East Champion Stallion and
Keep The Faith the Champion Freshman Sire.

VICTORIAN STALLION BOOK
Many people would have received a free copy of the Victorian Stallions Book in 2010. Circulation rose 23% across the board to Australia and over 4070 Victorians received a free copy. The mail out encompasses a number of key industry data bases with the Australian Stud Book offering the names of every breeder that returned a mare in 2009.
Victorian Stallions 2010 once again showcases the enormous strength of the Victorian Industry when they get behind each other with a combined focus. Make no mistake those that support the book with their stallions and the suppliers whose advertisements were critical in raising the postage costs required deserve your unqualified support. This publication is yet another endorsement of the value of Super VOBIS in Victoria.
Congratulations to Stuart McRobert from Stu-Art Graphics on another quality production.

MAYBE NOT THE KENTUCKY DERBY,
BUT A GROUP 1 TO SAVOR
Smiling Tiger was freely tipped in our newsletters to win the Kentucky Derby at massive odds. A set back prevented that and now he seems destined for sprint races. We will never know how good he would have been ridden conservatively.

HORSES TO FOLLOW
› Rhythm In Paris (Bianconi) - great first up effort. Given good break between runs. Absolutely stunning type of mare that is the perfect example of a Bianconi product. Listed races over Spring a real chance.
› Bank Robber (Dash For Cash) - change of stables and has five super runs at Group 1 level already against Australia's best, so does not have to find much.
› Alittlebitofmonica (Court of Jewels) - star in the making. Cannot wait to see her on a dry track. 3YO Fillies races in the Spring.
› Apprehend (Hold That Tiger) - hit line hard in 6th spot (less than 3L behind Shoot Out) in the first WFA race the Grp 3 Bletchingly after being out on a limb for most of the race. Probably best to wait till he gets beyond a mile and then build your staking plan into his preparation.
› Socks (Keep The Faith) - Could be first real headline grabber for the Apple Isle in many years. Just looks like a horse that will mature into a quality galloper.
› From The Trainer: Faithful Lad by Keep The Faith from a Bletchingly mare is racing in Singapore soon and is pleasing trainer Michael Freedman immensely as he builds towards his debut run. Big watch.
